BlackBerry Users |
The New York Times has reported that BlackBerry
users are becoming embarrassed for using these handheld devices. What
was once the envy of geeks and hipsters, the article chronicles how
people hide their BlackBerries in shame for fear of being called out by
their iPhone- and Android-totting colleagues.
Alternatively, the report also talked to iPhone and Android users who
see BlackBerry being in the same league as Myspace and AOL Instant
Messenger.
“I’m ashamed of it,” said a sales representative from Los Angeles of
her BlackBerry, so much so she had stopped pulling out her phone when in
public. And when she had to check on her emails, she would hid her
BlackBerry beneath her iPad.
BlackBerry’s growing lack of desirability is what makes its company,
Research In Motion, less likely to turn its struggling fortunes around
even with the introduction of its new BlackBerry 10 operating system early next year.
