Samsung Galaxy Nexus |
The United States Court of Appeals has overturned a ban on sales of
the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. This comes after a district judge rejected Samsung’s request to lift the pre-trial injuction after Apple sued the South Korean company of patent infringement.
In the decision, the appeals court said that the district court of
San Jose, California (helmed by Judge Lucy Koh) had “abused its
discretion in entering an injunction.”
Earlier this month, the US sales ban on the Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet was also lifted.
A representative of Samsung said the company “confirms that the role
of patent law is to protect innovation and not to unreasonably stifle
competition and restrict consumer choice.”
