Samsung “Mini" Galaxy S3 |
A high-profile Samsung executive has confirmed that they will unveil a
smaller version of the Galaxy S III smartphone this weekend.
Samsung’s mobile chief JK Shin spoke to Korean media this morning,
saying that the 4-inch version of the Android-powered smartphone will be
introduced in a launch event, a week after invitations were sent out to
the press.
“Some may call it an entry-level device, but we call it ‘mini,’” Shin hinted.
Although Shin stopped short of revealing details about pricing and
availability, various sources have written speculations about the “mini”
Galaxy S3. According to The Verge, the smaller Galaxy S3 will be packed with the same features as its 4.8-inch sibling.
Meanwhile, German technology blog MobileGeeks
wrote that the mini smartphone will have 800 x 480 screen resolution,
as well as a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, Android 4.1, 1GHz dual-core
STE U8420 chipset, and 16GB of flash memory with expandable microSD
card slot.
