Dev Alpha B |
When Research In Motion formally unveiled BlackBerry 10,
developers who attended the event received a BB10-powered “Dev Alpha B”
smartphone so they could build apps on it. These teams can now put
their BB10 apps to the test as RIM opens app submissions, in
anticipation to the OS’ launch early next year.
Developers who are able to submit on the first day (October 10th)
should see their titles at the front of line when BlackBerry App World
begins to support the upcoming platform. These apps are expected to
focus on full-touch hardware instead of combined QWERTY and touch
devices.
While there is no guarantee that the App World would offer a sea of
BB10 apps once the OS becomes readily available, developers only need to
remind themselves of RIM’s US$10,000 incentive for certified apps.
