Upon learning of the incident, Nintendo puts up a statement, saying
that it is investigating the matter. Theh Japanese company adds that
Foxconn should comply to the Nintendo CSR Procurement Guidelines that
were set up in July 2008, which a based on “relevant laws, international
standards, and guidelines.”
“If we were to find that any of our production partners did not meet
our guidelines, we would require them to modify their practices
according to Nintendo policy,” Nintendo states.
Foxconn claims that it has sent the underage interns home and promised to fire anyone responsible for hiring minors.
