"Asus Taichi Laptops Come with Double-Sided Displays"

Asus Taichi Laptops

Another Windows 8-powered device Asus unveiled yesterday is the Taichi laptop that may go down in history as one of the most memorable for its unusual selling point: displays on both sides of the lid. No need to slide the lid like any other convertible PC; just close the laptop and it becomes a tablet.

The Asus Taichi has some pretty high-end specs. The 11.6-inch Taichi 21, for instance, starts at $1,299 and comes with dual 1080p IPS displays, default Core i5-3317U processor, 4GB of RAM, and 128GB SSD. Add $200 and you get 256GB of storage. There is also a $1,499 configuration that comes with 256GB SSD and a Core i7 processor.
Other features on the list include Intel HD 4000 graphics chipset, two USB 3.0 ports, a 5-megapixel rear camera, a 720p front-facing web camera, Bluetooth 4.0, and Intel Wireless Display technology. The 11-inch model will be shipped in November, while the 13-inch version comes a month later.
There is also the 13-inch Asus Taichi 31, which comes with the same spec options and won’t be shipped until December.
