Angry Birds Maker Launches “Bad Piggies”

Bad Piggies

Rovio Entertainment, the company behind the successful Angry Birds, launches its latest game app in the perspective of the egg-stealing green pigs. Instead of shooting the enemy with a slingshot, “Bad Piggies” allows players to build vehicles that help the porcine characters get the birds’ eggs.

Once the vehicle is built, the player lets physics guide it through a map where eggs can be stolen. While it bears the same visuals as Angry Birds, the gameplay is more similar to Amazing Alex, a recently-launch Rovio game app that lets players create their own over-engineered devices. That title got off to a good start, but has been falling in the iTunes charts lately, even lower that Angry Birds itself.
Rovio hopes “Bad Piggies” will be just as successful, if not more, as its avian counterpart. The title is now available on the Apple App Store and Google Play. It costs 99 cents on the iPhone, $2.99 on the iPad, $4.99 on the Mac, and free on Android.
