One of the several features expected to appear in the BlackBerry 10
platform is the ability to display social networking and other data
about your contacts and put them all together in a single location.
This means that not only it will show your friend’s phone number and
email address, but also his latest tweets, Facebook status updates, and
other nitty-gritty details about his online life.
The upcoming mobile OS will also have enterprise-specific features,
such as displaying future meetings scheduled with a particular contact.
If these features seem familiar to you, it is because these have already been utilized on the Motorola Droid,
and Android 2.0-powered smartphone debuted back in 2009. You have
heard it right: expect the BB10 to integrate some of Android’s goodness
into their upcoming platform.
It is very clear that RIM is setting its sights on the competition
for some inspiration. With some of the Android-esque capabilities
expected to appear on the BlackBerry 10, we wonder whether the platform
will also borrow functions from iOS and Windows Phone.
The new BlackBerry 10 platform, along with its flagship handsets, are set to debut in early 2013.
