Canon Snap Camera |
Most of us use our smartphones as our camera device because of its
portability and the presence of great photo apps to go with it. But
because smartphones are mainly that, phones, its interface does not
allow for a quick setup.
Germany-based designer David Munscher develops an idea that would
solve that problem. The Snap Camera is a mini point-and-shoot device
that can be fitted right onto your finger like a ring. It is always
ready to snap photos with a single press of a button so you would be
able to take photos instant, no matter how fast the moment sneaks up on
you.
The design is meant to capture more quality photos compared to camera-equipped smartphones
at the same time. While the intentions are noble, the downside is that
the Snap Camera might become a popular tool among stalkers if this does
become an actual product.
The Snap Camera was submitted as a contribution to the DT Design Awards 2006 for Canon
(hence the Canon branding on the prototype). It did not win, though,
and we could only hope that this will actually become available in store
shelves.
