"Vuzix M100 Smart Glasses"

Vuzix M100 Smart Glasses

Head mounted displays are currently getting popular, especially with their potential as an accessory to smartphones and similar portable devices. Even though market players are still quite few as of the moment, there are others who are now focusing on creating the next generation head mounted displays designed for consumers and for daily use. One of them is Vuzix, which is introducing the M100 Smart Glasses.

The new Vuzix M100 Smart Glasses is a small head mounted display that comes designed similar to some hands free Bluetooth headsets. But it comes with more features. This 1GHz OMAP 4430 runs on Android 4.0 that can run apps on the device itself as well as pull data from app on your smartphone. It also comes with a 428×240 display places just below the eye. It also comes with a tiny 720p capable camera as well. The device is worn resting on the ear just like a typical Bluetooth headset. The Vuzix M100 Smart Glasses will be shown at the CES in Las Vegas next year. The makers expect it to cost around US$1,000 if ever it becomes commercially available any time soon.
