"The Loophole Lamp"

Loophole Lamp

Creativity is not just celebrated in extraordinary artworks made by art geniuses. Even simple design can have its own time to shine as a fitting example of a creative mind. Items like the Loophole Lamp can show that creativity can also be exhibited by a common lamp.

The Loophole Lamp is an interesting lamp design by designer Tim Durfee. It is made up of a common off-the-shelf fluorescent tube with one side painted with opaque paint. With the light facing the wall, it provides a beautiful source of diffused light for any room. The ballast is situated at the lamp base, with a 3D printed piece used to complete the oval shape and direct the wiring into the lamppost. The Loophole Lamp is not yet commercially available but surely defines creative design using a simple approach.
