Forget Thanksgiving. We all know that the most anticipated event
this week is Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, when retail
stores offer massive discounts to shoppers. Not only you can finally
purchase that pair of sneakers you’ve been wanting to have, but it gives
you the chance to fill up your holiday gift list.
One of the hot items to buy every Black Friday is gadgets. A reader
for USA Today asks about the best deals on tech gear for next Friday, as
well as any tech merchandise he shouldn’t buy.
When it comes to getting the best deals for Black Friday, Tech
columnist Kim Komando recommends buying popular video games released
last year and video game consoles, which will receive huge price
markdowns especially with the upcoming release of next-generation Xbox
360 and the launch of Nintendo Wii U. Another must-buy for the
penny-pinching public are DVD and Blu-ray discs.
When it comes to computers, Komando tells readers to “stay away from
laptops until January,” except if there are sweet deals on computers
running on Windows 8. As for buying a TV for Christmas, buy one now.
However, if you plan on upgrading your home theater, you may want to
hold on until a few weeks before Super Bowl, when prices are at its
lowest.
