"Sandia Cooler CPU Fan"

Sandia Cooler CPU Fan

One of the limiting factors that affect the speed and efficiency of computers has been heat accumulation caused by the hard working processor. That is why cooling systems for processors is an important part of any CPU and will help in determining its performance. The people at Sandia National Laboratories have developed the Sandia Cooler heat sink that can help cool the CPU up to 30 times more efficiently than current ones already out in the market.

The Sandia Cooler is a unique heat sink for a computer processor in that it comes with its own spinning cooler integrated into the heat sink. When used, the Sandia Cooler is placed a thousandth of an inch above the processor with no direct contact. This creates an air bearing that protects the processor from vibrations that might be coming from the Sandia Cooler but is also just as efficient in transmitting heat from the processor to the device.
What makes the Sandia Cooler unique is that it comes with its own cooling fan that can quickly dissipate the heat from building up on the processor and send it away. This method allows the Sandia Cooler to become more effective in cooling down the processor for up to 30 times than current heat sinks and cooling systems for its size in the market. Because of its efficiency in cooling CPU’s, the Sandia Cooler may someday become standard equipment inside future computer units. But for now, Sandia National Laboratories is currently trying to market the technology in order to find a suitable manufacturer for it.
