If you check out Amazon.com now, you would witness some dissing going on against the newly-launched iPad Mini.
The ad starts with some not-so-flattering words about Apple’s latest
creation from Gizmodo: “Your (Apple’s) 7.9-inch tablet has far fewer
pixels than the competing 7-inch tablets! You’re cramming a worse screen
in there, charging more, and accusing others of compromise? Ballsy!”
Amazon then shamelessly compares its own Kindle Fire tablet to the iPad
Mini, bragging that its HD screen is no match to the Mini’s SD display.
The ad also indicates that iPad Mini users cannot watch movies and TV
shows in HD quality, as well as having to be contented with its mono
speaker, compared to Kindle Fires dual stereo audio blasters.
And did we mention that consumers can get so much more from the
Kindle Fire for only $199, while the iPad Mini costs $329? At least
that’s what the ad said.
Apple supporters, however, do not see it that way. “Apple’s screens
always look far better than spec sheets may suggest, and the iPad Mini’s
screen is also substantially larger,” wrote Rick Aristotle Munarriz of The Motley Fool.
“Playing up the dual stereo speaker in the Kindle Fire HD versus
Apple’s mono speaker won’t be much of a factor to folks donning
headphones.”
His readers seem to agree. One wrote: “(When it comes to) value for money, the iPad Mini wins; no contest.”
