Acer Aspire 7600U |
Apparently, Acer has more
new gadgets up its sleeve apart from the slew of Windows 8-based
devices they unveiled at IFA and Computex. The Taiwan-based company has
just introduced a pair of touch-friendly, Windows 8 all-in-one desktop
PCs namely the Aspire 5600U and the Aspire 7600U.
Both devices show off its minimalist design, with an edge-to-edge
display, transparent panel at the bottom of the bezel, and a thin frame
about 1.4 inches thick. They can also tilt, enabling these computers to
lie at a nearly face-up 80-degree angle.
The 23-inch 5600U features a 1080p screen, 8GB of RAM, 1TB of
storage, a 2.4GHz Core i5 3110M CPU, and Intel HD 4000 graphics. You can
configure it with Acer’s InstantOn technology, enabling it to spring it
back from sleep mode in just 1.5 seconds. It also comes with a
non-touch-enabled configuration.
Meanwhile, the 27-inch Aspire 7600U (pictured) has the same display,
RAM, and storage specs. This one, however, comes with a discrete NVIDIA
GT640M GPU chipset with 2GB of video memory and a 2.5GHz Core i5 3210M
CPU (which can be overclockable to 3.1GHz). It also has two HDMI
inputs, compared to just one in 5600U. And unlike the 5600U, the 7600U
will only be available as a touch-enabled model.
Both PCs will be available this month, with the smaller of the two
starting at $1,000 for the non-touch models and $1,150 for the
touchscreen variants. The 7600U, on the other hand, will begin at
$1,900.
