Fujitsu RakuRaku |
In this day and age of portable devices, you would say that only the
younger generation can benefit from the newer ones that are being
introduced today. But at the same time, there are also a lot of people
who may be interested in exploring these devices but find out later on
that they were designed with the young people in mind. And just to keep
things in balance Fujitsu takes a different path by doing things like
introducing a smartphone like RakuRaku which is designed for old people.
The Fujitsu RakuRaku is an Android smartphone that is designed for
use by elderly people who might have a difficult time using the usual
smart phone. The RakuRaku comes with a customized UI that displays large
text as well as oversized virtual buttons on the touch screen. Even a
few of its physical buttons are built to be bigger than usual in order
to help older people operate them. The touchscreen surface can even
distinguish from accidental touches on the screen to those that are done
with a purpose. The Fujitsu RakuRaku is expected to be available in
Japan sometime in August. An international launch of the device is also
being planned.
