"Adidas Reveals Social Media Training Shoe Concept"

Everybody knows you are not supposed to run and tweet at the same time, but Adidas says, “Not so fast!” The company that brings you athletic shoes and gear is set to unveil a pair of “connected” training shoe late into the London 2012 Olympics.

Named the Social Media Barricade, these running shoes are embedded with several mobile phone parts and a basic two-line LCD screen. On paper, it is supposed to post Twitter updates on its own through a public account as it runs. The signature Adidas stripes even change their hue with the use of a remote control.

Do not get too excited, though, as the Adidas Social Media Barricade remains a concept product even though the company praises it as the “future of athlete connectivity.”
